Drumtalk is an artist-in residence program designed to provide a African cultural experience for K-12 and college level students. Students may enjoy an enthralling narrative performance given by Ko-Thi's professional dancers and musicians or experience hands-on activities in one of our workshops.

The program format is fully flexible so that schools and organizations can customize a program to meet their specific objectives. Program formats are, dance and/or drum residencies, instrument making, and performance demonstrations.

Dear Ko-Thi Dancers and Drummers,
Your performance was very exciting. I loved the costumes, music and dances. I enjoyed the different sounds of the music because it made you feel like a part of the performance. The dancers were so enthusiastic! I loved watching everyone; they put so much energy into the dances. The dances seemed perfect and well rehearsed. It was amazing that you could dance for so long and not get tired. I would love to see another performance because they get you very excited. The drum players also did a great job. I liked all the different sounds they could make on the drums. Your performance was great!

Dear Ko-Thi,
Thank you once again for a wonderful week of high spirited African dance. As my senior year ends, I will look back on the memories of fun-exciting Ko-Thi Dance. There is always an inspiring energy that Ko-Thi brings to the student dancers of MHSA. Please continue to bring that enchanting delight for many years to come.
Thank you.
